Play Time

She loves looking at herself on her play mat! She also loves the music that it plays. We've also noticed that she loves anything with rap- she is definitely Vaughn's child! haha

First Bath!

Callie's belly button finally fell off the night before last! So last night she got her first bath and she loved it! As long as she had warm water on her she was a happy camper.

2 week

Callie had her two week check up last week. She has already gained a pound (8lbs 12oz) and grew a 1/2 an inch (22 inches)! Her belly button still hasn't fallen off yet, but is just about to. We are eating well, and will let you know when we are hungry by showing off how strong our lungs are! She is an absolute angel. God blessed Vaughn and I with such a wonderful child. I think he knew what we would be able to handle and that is exactly what we got. Callie is sleeping great, only waking up twice in the night which is great for mom and dad. :) She loves the be held, which I love, but I can see where that could be a problem in the future!

Update!

Now that Callie is three weeks old, which is REALLY hard to believe, I guess it's time to update the blog! The past three weeks have been a whirl wind of excitement. She is absolutely amazing. She loves to eat and sleep, just like her parents, and rarely cries- unless she needs to eat! SO I guess I should really start from the day she was born, so here we go..

Monday, October 6th
Vaughn and I checked into the hosptial at 5:30 that morning to get the induction process started. I didn't sleep a wink, I was so excited and had really bad heartburn (so happy that's over!). They started me on iv fluids and then at 6:30ish Dr. Hanna came to break my water. Contractions started immediately and I was surprised on how they weren't as painful as I had imagined. Well as time went on, I realized that an epidural was the way to go for sure. I received the epidural at 10:30- the Dr. left in the middle of it to put someone down the hall asleep! At 2:30- 3:00 I had only progressed to about 6 centimeters, so that's when we realized that we were in it for the long haul. About that time they switched my iv out to give me something with sugar in it- I wasn't feel so great- and then check me again- I was at 9! So they got me ready and I pushed for about 45 minutes. She needed some help coming out, so they suctioned her head. Next thing I know, they are say "Look down, here's your baby!" I looked and was SO excited to see a head FULL of hair (it was the ONE thing I really cared about my baby having! haha) They then said "It's a girl!" and the water works started down my face! :) Vaughn was great through the whole process, he stayed on his two feet right beside my head. It truly was the most amazing experience that I could have ever hoped for! Here are some pics from that day.

Erin and Vaughn were blessed with a beautiful baby girl!

Callie McNair Granger
October 6, 2008
6:18pm
7 pounds, 12 ounces, 21.5 inches long

Congratulations Erin & Vaughn! Love and prayers for all THREE of you!

Erin has asked me to update her blog for all of you. Just wanted you all to know this is a message from me and not her! I got an email from Amy with the update tonight! Thanks Amy!

She's perfectly healthy with a head full of dark red hair and full little lips. Callie, mommy, and daddy are doing great, but exhausted. They're resting up and getting to know their precious bundle of joy. I'm sure Erin will be back to update in a couple weeks when she's recouperated. Here's a few pictures to tide you over until then!

Much love, Lucia

Welcome to the world Callie McNair!

It's a girl! Stay tuned for more news very soon!

And the countdown begins!

Mark your calendars! Baby G will be here no later than October 8, 2008! We are scheduled to induce on the 8th, however, Dr. Hanna thinks we might go a little sooner than that. The baby is estimated at about 8 lbs now- YIKES, so the sooner the better getting it out. I'd like to not have the baby be able to walk out of the hospital. :)
