Strawberry Farm

It’s that time of the year!  One of our favorite things to do in spring is go to the strawberry farm.  We eat strawberries like they are going out of existence around here and the big buckets at Cottle Farms are just what we need.  Last year Chloe wasn’t into picking strawberries, but this year she really got into it!

Callie, the season pro, filled our bucket up supper quick

well, in between taste testing.

Somehow I missed Chloe eating the 500 strawberries.  However, I think this picture sums it up.  Chloe ate her way down the row and Mac actually picked with mommy for the bucket!

I’m sure we’ll be back multiple times for the rest of the season!

My front porch

I know you’ve probably heard the Lonestar song “My Front Porch Looking In.”  It had been a while since I had heard it, but it came on the radio the other day and immediately felt a connection with it.  The words couldn’t fit us more perfectly!  When I decided I wanted to become a stay at home mom one of the main reasons is I was aching to be able to spend more time with Callie.  I also knew, being pregnant, that I would want the same for the other little girl that was about to join our family.  I loved getting home everyday to play with Mac, and I would rush out of the office as soon as I physically could to be with her.  Nothing ‘beat the view of my front porch looking in.’  So when I heard the chorus of the song I got chills!! I love my little ‘carrot top’ and ‘blue eyed blonde' and I’m so grateful/thankful/blessed that I have these two in my life!!

“I’ll never beat the view of my front porch looking in,

there's a carrot top that can barely walk with a sippy cup of milk

A Box of Sunshine

One of my very best friends was having a horrible no good very bad week, so I wanted to brighten up her day with something special.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and I knew it would be perfect for her!  This box of sunshine needed lots of yellow goodies so we took opportunity to go to Mast General Store for the first time.  Chloe was immediately hooked to all the cars, which instantly stressed me out!  Seriously, cars were every where…

 IMG_2215

Then she realized all the candy she could grab in put in her bucket, lets just say we went home with more than yellow goodies!

IMG_2217

It was great for Callie who picked out all the yellow candy

We then headed home with our yellow goodies and packed them into a box

with the note on top!

I love actually completing a Pinterest project and when it’s putting a smile on someone else’s face, even better!  Hoping that the box full of sunshine brighten her day.  Still sending prayers her way for everything going on, it will get better, promise! :)

James is Two!

Saturday we celebrated ‘Baby’ James’ second birthday!  Chollet did an awesome job with the Bug themed birthday party.

Being a house of majority girls, bugs aren’t a thing that we typically do…

but we got over it when we saw the yummy ‘bug’ food!

especially the bug bites!

The sandbox was a favorite among the party goers

as well as the bouncy house!

It was time to sing Happy Birthday to the Birthday boy and I think my two were some of the first at the table.  They love cupcakes and think that’s the reason you go to a birthday party…

he got some help from mom and dad to blow out the candles…

but didn’t need any when it came to eating it!

We played for a little bit longer then it was time for us to head home.

Thanks for having us share such a fun day with you James!  Hard to believe you are two and no longer ‘Baby” James.  Looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays to come!

Jesus’ Scarf

You’ve seen them all around town, cross’ in front of churches with a purple sash.  Callie thought this was very interesting since they just started showing up.  cross

So she asks, “Mommy, why does that cross have a scarf on it?  Does Jesus need it to get warm?”  I then did my best to explain Lent.  I have a feeling that she’ll have lots of questions this Easter, but looking forward to sharing the Eater story with her!

Bird Seed Wreath

Callie loves feeding the birds in our yard.  So when I came across this bird seed wreath on Pinterest, I thought it would be a great activity for the two of us to do, with little cost- yay!  First you need a cute princess dress wearing helper.

I forgot to take a picture of the next step, but your pour the bird seed gelatin mixture into a bundt pan and then in the fridge to set.  A few hours later pop it out and you have a birdseed wreath feeder!

Mommy and Chloe

Chloe and I had a mommy and daughter play day at EdVenture while Callie was in school the other day.  Vaughn and I are trying to make an extra effort to give Chloe some one on one time with us at this age, like her sister did.  So while Callie was at school, I took the opportunity to take Chloe out, just the two of us!  I was surprised to see how shy Chloe was without her big sister around, it took her a minute to get warmed up to everything, but then she was excited to get playing!  First up was the grocery store, what kids doesn’t love pushing around a buggy and pulling everything off the shelf?!

Next up, driving the fire truck

Seeing how she was as just the ‘only’ child was so neat.  We’ll be doing more of one on one with both girls for sure!
