Ballerina Soccer Girl

Callie had a really busy week!  She started ballet and soccer and was really excited about both.  Callie had a couple of friends return to her class this dance class this year, plus a few more new friends.  Can’t wait to see what Ms. Amy does with this motley crew :)

Saturday she had her very first soccer game, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure how it would go.  Not only could she not wear a dress/skirt (which she asked if she could wear at least to the field), she had to wear cleats (which she wore sandals to and from the field), hair had to be up in a ponytail (which she took out as soon as we got in the car), and shin guards (which she really liked!).  All that said, she didn’t fuss much and I think once she saw everyone else dressed the same one she felt better about her uniform.

They had warm ups for a few minutes before the game, which was super cute and then it was game time!

Callie did pretty good overall, definitely not the star, but ran with the group

and even had an opportunity to kick the ball, but froze and the other team got it from her… maybe next time!  and as she reminds me “It’s not a winning game mom!”  haha

Vaughn and I got a good laugh ‘AW’ moment during the game, Callie asked Coach Lauren to leave the game so she could tell her mommy something.  She comes running over to me and gives me a big hug, kiss and says “I love you mommy!” Gotta love this age!

Looking for another fun year of fun with this cute “Princess Ballerina” and soccer girl!
