Chloe- 2 Months

Chloe had her two month appointment where she got weighed, measured, and given shots.  She didn’t like being poked and prodded and especially getting shots.  All that being said, she’s growing beautifully!  I went back to compare her measurements to Callie’s 2 months, and they are almost identical- except for the percentiles!  Which makes me wonder- does the “curve” change in just two years?  I wouldn’t have thought so, but it seems that it has!

Height: 23 3/4” (86.6%) ~ Weight: 12.9lbs (82.3%)

Head Circumference: 15.5” (62.8%)mailmail2

If all goes well, we'll be back for her 4 month appointment and not before then!

Happy Birthday, Jesus

We got together with the Dupree’s and Helfer’s to celebrate Jesus’ Birthday again this year, aka our Happy Birthday Jesus Party.  Last year was our first time coming together to celebrate only knowing that we would add one baby to the mix, not three!  That being said, we had a house FULL of little ones, and I loved it!

Vaughn and I hosted this year’s celebration and had all plans of making Lasagna Rolls for everyone, but after some traveling hold ups, that fell short and we just ordered pizza.  I don’t think anyone minded though, especially the kids who were having so much fun playing they barely ate!  IMG_6543_thumb IMG_6547_thumbIMG_6551_thumbIMG_6552_thumb

After “eating” some dinner, it was time to open some presents!  Chloe hung out while the other kids tore into their gifts.image_thumb2   Callie got some play-doh, and she wanted to open it right thenIMG_6580_thumb James thankfully got a cool enough toy to distract her for a minute where I could put it away until a later time.  He was such a good sharer!IMG_6590_thumb After presents, it was time for some cake!  Amy and Emory made and decorated the cake and did an awesome job- super yummy!IMG_6600_thumb

Two candle were placed on top for our 2nd annual celebration.  The kids got together to blow them out, but I think Callie was most interested in eating the cake itself!  This was also our best attempt at getting a group picture

Boland finally decided to wake up towards the end of our get together.  We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a picture of the two littlest ones, I love how Chloe is looking at him and Boland is like- what are y’all doing to me?!

IMG_6623_thumb  I’m a sucker for traditions and I’m so glad we continued this one, squeezing it into all of our busy schedules!  I love these two families and looking forward to many more Jesus Birthday Parties!

** Thanks Amy for taking pictures!**

PJ’s With Santa

This year, we headed to the Junior Leagues’ PJ”S with Santa again for some fun!  Callie and I loved going last year and I was looking forward to going again this year with both girls. We started out waiting in line to see Santa, and while we were there we ran into our friends Emory and Jack

Chloe waited patiently…IMG_2870

Emory and Callie caught up, they haven’t seen each other since their little siblings were born, so I’m sure they had lots to discuss! IMG_2875Jack and his momma- the girls should have clued Jack in to what it’s like to have a little sibling- he’s going to be one soon!IMG_2880

We finally made it to Santa and Callie didn’t want anything to do with him!  She was screaming, so I ended up holding her for her picture.  Chloe on the other hand didn’t mind one bit- as long as someone is holding her she’s a happy camper! IMG_6046amyIMG_6050amy

After our unsuccessful visit with Santa, we headed over to do a craft- making a stocking!IMG_6053amy   IMG_2884 IMG_2886 After making our stocking, we were heading back to the Granger Owings booth, when we ran into Elmo.  Elmo is Callie’s FAVORITE right now and she totally freaked out!  She ran right up to him and gave him a big hug.  It’s amazing how she’ll run up to him, but not Santa who gives out toys?!IMG_2909 Chloe wasn’t so sure about him though…IMG_2911DR and Vaughn in the Granger Owings booth IMG_2914 Callie enjoying some milk from the milk and cookies station, yummy!IMG_2917DR and Kelsey, the newlyweds!   IMG_2920 It was another fun trip to PJ’s with Santa!  Looking forward to next year when Chloe will be running around with her sister!

Granger Owings Christmas Breakfast

With Christmas right around the corner, it was time for our annual Granger Owings Christmas Breakfast.  We woke the girls up early and headed on over to The Capital City Club for our get together.  It’s always a good time- great food, company and presents!  The girls even got in on the gifts this year, not sure why since they don’t work there :)

As some of you know, my uncle Keith (my dad’s brother) works at the store.  This particular Friday, wasn’t like any other Friday for these two, they got MARRIED!!!  They came to breakfast, without telling ANYONE of what was to come that night, not even family- except for Grandma.  They got married at Jack Brantley’s house in Camden, SC with only the minister and his wife present, how romantic!  We are so excited for them and wish them the best of luck in the years to come!

Letter from Santa

About a week before Santa was to come, Callie and I sat down to send Santa a letter through our elf Jack.  In it she wrote what she and Chloe would like for Christmas; including puzzles, coloring books, trains, and dvds.  The following morning we went downstairs to eat our breakfast and were surprised to see letters to Chloe and Callie from Santa!  Jack had brought back a letter to each girl from Santa, and they couldn’t be more excited!

Chloe got her letter with her breakfast bottle- she threw her hand up in excitement!Letter from Santa 12-131 Callie got her letter with a cupcake and milk- her perfect breakfast!  Letter from Santa 12-13We loved that Jack brought the letter and stopped causing ciaos in our home.  I had to have a talk with “Jack” and asked that he stop messing my house up causing more work for me during the day than I could keep up with!  He understood and started doing sweet things instead, love!  The letters got Callie SUPER excited about Santa’s visit, she couldn’t wait!

Bake Day 2010

With Christmas only a couple of weeks away, it was time for our annual Bake Day!  I had so much fun with Callie participating last year and I knew we would have just as much fun this year.  We had lots on our list to make, so first up, sugar cookies!  Callie was great at decorating, with the help of Christa of course… IMG_3099IMG_3106

Chloe enjoyed her first bake day!  We had lots of extra hands and she was passed around the entire day, I don’t think she minded.  IMG_3136  IMG_3107   The goods!  We made WAY more than we could ever take home to our homes.  So we boxed some extras up and took to our families and friends to spread to goodnessIMG_3121 IMG_3122

I had forgotten Mac’s paci that day, so we resorted to one of Chloe’s.  It wasn’t the same, but it helped us make it through the afternoon- she never took a nap with all the excitement!  When it was time to pack up the goodies, Callie grabbed a basket and Nana’s shoes.  Maybe to trick us in packing it full so she could enjoy them all by herself?IMG_3126We thoroughly enjoyed another bake day with our great friends and family!   We also thoroughly enjoyed all the treats, and glad to see them being eaten and not all by me :)

Christmas Pictures

The other day I took the girls Christmas pictures.  It took twice as long as previous years because one of them was either crying, looking the other way, or totally over me taking their picture!  Although it was an adventure, I thought we got some cute ones again this year.

We first went to the State House to get some in front of the big tree.  I thought I would be able to be there for a while and get our Christmas card picture there, but I was wrong.  It was SO cold, we didn’t stay very long.  We took a couple then headed back home to finish the photo “shoot.”IMG_2927IMG_2933IMG_2939 IMG_2942

Once we got back home I sat them in front of the Christmas tree, similar to Callie’s first Christmas photo.  Callie was bored three pictures in, so I had to have a cookie on standby and bribed her to sit and smile!IMG_2973  or stick out her tongue…IMG_2955 IMG_2963 IMG_2966

IMG_3017 IMG_3030 IMG_3056 IMG_3079   After a 100+ photos, and I’m not exaggerating too much, they finally had enough and we stopped.  IMG_3090

The cards went out a little later than I had hoped, but at least they got sent, all 60 of them- and I ran out! We’re now ready for Christmas Day to get here, counting down the days now!
